Event Details -
The event consists of three categories :
Category 1 : Ideaz -
Contestants are supposed to come up with some theoretical idea or design for any system. It need not be already implemented, however it should be practically possible to implement it.
FORMAT:
- Elimz : Synopsis of the design is to be submitted. Judges will select the finalists on the basis of the synopsis.
- Finalz : Final teams are supposed to present their design in front of the panel of judges
Category 2 : Appz -
Contestants are supposed to submit an application software they have made. The software should be new and useful. It should have a graphical user interfaced.
FORMAT:
- Elimz : The source code of the software is to be submitted along with the synopsis, on the basis of which the judges will select the finalists.
- Finalz : Final teams are supposed to present their software in front of the panel of judges. They are also supposed to demonstrate it to the visitors.
Category 3 : Toolz -
Contestants are supposed to submit a small tool or utility they have made. It should be new and useful.
FORMAT:
- Elimz : The source code of the tool or utility is to be submitted along with the synopsis, on the basis of which judges will select the finalists.
- Finalz : Final teams are supposed to present their tool or utility in front of the panel of judges. They are also supposed to demonstrate it to the visitors.
Rules -
- Team consists of max 3 members.
- Teams should submit 3 hard copies and 1 soft copy of the synopsis about their software project or idea. The synopsis should not be more than 3 pages long, excluding 1 cover page and / or 1 page for block diagram (if any). Preferably Times New Roman or Arial font should be used at size 12. The cover page of the synopsis should contain the Title, and the names and reg.codes of all the participants in the team.
- Teams are supposed to submit the source code in a floppy or a CD. ( For Appz & Toolz ). The required soft copy of the synopsis as mentioned in rule #2 can be included on the same disk. CDs should be prefered over Floppies. If the source code and synopsis together are less than 600 KB, then they can also be mailed to nirmitee@ideas04.org as an email attachment.
- The software should be a bona fide work of the participants. The entry will be disqualified if any kind of copied work is submitted.
- Teams should mail a list of requirements (like OS, hardware etc.) for their software to the event head at nirmitee@ideas04.org. They are supposed to bring and install any runtime libraries or dependency software required to run their creation, with permission of the event head or event volunteers. (For Appz and Toolz). OS requirement will be taken care of by the event head, however its the participants ' job to preinform about all the requirements to the event head.
- Decisions made by judges will be final and binding.
- Participants are not allowed to make any unauthorized changes
in the systems provided. If anyone is found doing so, his participation
will get cancelled on the spot.
